Obituary of Shirley Jean Richardson

Mrs. Shirley Jean Blevins Richardson was born to Italy and Lou Blevins on August 29, 1937 making her stay here 78 years, 11 months and one day. She was married to Joe Richardson on July 7, 1957, being together 59 years, 1 month and 25 days. To this union was born two sons, Tony and Billy Richardson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 2:00pm at Peace Haven Community Church with Rev. Mitchell Mash officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Wednesday; two hours prior to the funeral service. Preceding her in death is her father, mother and two brothers. She leaves behind her husband, Joe; both sons, Tony and wife, Karen Richardson and Billy and wife, Teresa Richardson; four grandchildren, Jody, Dacota, Anthony, Joseph and Shanna; three great-grandchildren, Dalton, Cowen and Parker; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews . She processed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Silas Creek Baptist Church and later moved to Peace Haven Community Church, where she remained faithful to her God and Savior. She loved her church and her family. She was a very good wife and mother. Shirley lived her Salvation, spent many days cleaning the church and loved every minute of it. This was her calling. The last two years, she has been unable to go to church, but she listened and watched every preacher she could on TV. She is gone from our presence, but her work, spirit and memory will live on. Jesus called and she walked through the last gate where she has peace, joy and rest. If she could speak, she would say, "Live for Jesus, because it's far better than you can imagine. See you in the morning." When God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be He put his arms around you And whispered come to me He didn't like what you went through And He gave you rest His garden must be beautiful He only takes the best And when we saw you sleeping So peaceful and free from pain We wouldn't wish you back To suffer that again Today we say goodbye And as you have taken your final rest That garden must be beautiful Because you are one of the best.
