Mr. Glenn Vernon Grubb, better known as G.V., age 90, of Todd passed away Monday afternoon, August 8, 2016 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 2:00pm at Beaver Creek Christian Church with Rev. Loren Lung officiating. Military rites will be held at the church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 1:00-2:00pm; one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Grubb was born January 14, 1926 to parents, William Reece Grubb and Annie Lou Stevens Grubb of Ashe County, North Carolina. There were 6 sons and three daughters from this marriage. G.V. was a member of Beaver Creek Christian Church of West Jefferson, North Carolina. He served in the US Army during World War II as a tech sergeant. He married Minnie Worley Grubb in 1946 and had three sons and two daughters. After leaving service, he began a 70 year career in the upholstery field. He was generous is his giving and helping the needy of his community. G.V. enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Burl Grubb, Ervin Grubb, Tom Grubb, and Reece Grubb of Todd, NC; and a sister Layla Jeanette Walker of Winston Salem, NC. He is survived by three sons, Michael W. Grubb and wife, Pat, of Boone, Glenn A. Grubb and wife, Pam, of Boone and David K. Grubb and wife, Penny, of Todd; two daughters, Debbie G. Marion and husband, Scott, of Clemmons, NC and Rachael G. Anglin and husband, David, Boone, NC; a brother, Bryce Grubb and wife, Magalene, of Creston; two sisters, Essie Grubb Thomas, of Winston-Salem and Sandra Grubb Miller, of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren; Jason, Jenny David, Molly and Brett; one great-grandchild, Canaan and many thanks to Nancy Crump, who took great care of G.V. with kindness and compassion for many years.
