Mrs. Barbara Kathleen Bare Goodman, age 93, of Jefferson passed away Monday afternoon, September 12, 2016 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Casey officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm on Saturday; one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Goodman was born in Ashe County on April 15, 1923 to the late Conrad Eugene and Lilly Bessie Oliver Bare. She was a Homemaker. She attended Wagoner Baptist Church; when she was able. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and basket weaving but most of all she enjoyed her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Goodman; a son James M. Goodman; two sisters, Ima Jeanne Ledman and Rachel Josephine Weller. Mrs. Goodman is survived by two daughters, Teri Kay Goodman of Jefferson and Beverly Ann Camp and husband, William, of New York; six grandchildren, Sherrill Olivas, Susan Camp, Amy Lynn Prosser, Michelle Elizabeth Marsicano and husband, Anthony, James Keith Burgess and wife, Margie and Matthew Thomas Burgess; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
