Mrs. Phyllis Rachel Holman, age 71, of Jefferson passed away Thursday morning, September 15, 2016 at Watauga Medical Center. A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 3:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Holman was born in Ashe County on August 6, 1945 to the late Freeman Hall and Martha Mae Orfield Holman. She was a sewing machine operator in the textile mfg. Phyllis enjoyed reading in her spare time. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Holman and Tom Holman. Mrs. Holman is survived by a daughter, Patty Seagal and husband, Lance, of Fleetwood; two sons, Tim Hopkins and Tony Hopkins, all of West Jefferson; four sisters, Peggy Calloway and husband, Johnny, of West Jefferson, Anna Mae Goodman, of Jefferson, Vivian Martin, of Jefferson and Kathy Stansberry, of Clemmons, NC; seven brothers, Dwight Holman and wife, Mary, of Jefferson, Wayne Holman and wife, Judy, of Lansing, Kyle Holman and wife, Shirley, of Todd, Robbie Holman and wife, Dana, of West Jefferson, Michael Holman and wife, Wanda, of Grundy, VA, Harold Holman and wife, Clara, of Steinhatchee, Florida and George Holman and wife, Diane, of Sanford; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
