Mrs. Doris Blevins Sheets, age 85 of West Jefferson passed away Friday morning, September 16, 2016 at Margate Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Obids Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm on Sunday at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheets was born in Ashe County on September 9, 1931 to the late William J.B. and Hattie Eldreth Blevins. She enjoyed quilting. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband; Earl Brondle Sheets, Sr. Mrs. Sheets is survived by one son; Earl Sheets and wife Kathy of West Jefferson, one daughter; Janie Sheets of West Jefferson, two brothers; Bob Blevins and Virigina Blevins of Jefferson and Jim Blevins of Fleetwood, one sister, Myrtle Jean Blevins and husband Cecil of Maryland, two grandchildren; Ragan Sheets of Charlotte and Chad Staley and wife Melissa of West Jefferson, three great-grandchildren; Tanner Staley of Wilmington, Cody Staley of Ashe County, and Heather Staley of Ashe County.
