Mrs. Carolyn Bennett Riggs Taylor, age 75, of West Jefferson passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Autumn Care in Cornelius. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:30pm at West Jefferson United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Perry Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Taylor was born in Missouri on August 3, 1941 to the late William and Eelan Ellis Bennett. She worked as a CNA for Ashe Services for the Aging. She enjoyed painting and crafting but most all of she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son, Douglas Riggs and wife, Dinah, of Charlotte; a daughter, Kris Riggs Richard and husband, Drew, of Mooresville; two brothers, Robert Bennett, of Independence, Missouri and Bill Bennett, of Sedalia, Missouri; two sisters, Frances Lewis and husband, Roger, of Bastrop, Texas and Diane Wolf and husband, John, of Sedalia, Missouri; five grandchildren, Thomas Riggs, Elizabeth Riggs, Ryan Riggs, Coleman Richard and Nicholas Richard; several nieces and nephews also survive.
