Mrs. Hazel Eldreth Miller, age 92, of Jefferson passed away Saturday night, October 15, 2016 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herb Parunak and Brother Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Thursday; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Miller was born in Ashe County on January 1, 1924 to the late John and Ellen Sexton Eldreth. She was married to the late Monroe Miller for 68 years. She retired from Leviton Manufacturing after 27 years of dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her parents, her six brothers and three sisters, her husband, one daughter, Betty Fay Lambert and one son, Clarence Edward Miller, and a son-in-law, Roby “Bill” Kilby. Mrs. Miller is survived by a son, Jack (Judy) Miller of Jefferson; four daughters, Josephine (Bill) Hurley, of Jefferson, Jean Kilby of Winston-Salem, Linda (David) Ball, of Lansing and Sue (Mark) Hardin, of West Jefferson. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren: Cheri Lambert Baldwin, Elizabeth Miller, James Miller, Kelly Miller Price, Will Hurley, Christopher Hurley, Billy Kilby, Sandra Kilby Reynolds, Debbie Kilby Baker, Jeff Miller, David Ball, Teresa Hardin Richardson, Debbie Hardin Welch and William Mark Hardin, Jr. There is also twenty-five great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Barbara Hardin Miller, of Jefferson; a son-in-law, Tommy Lambert, of Crumpler who survives.
