Mrs. Betty Jo Taylor Phipps, age 77, of Crumpler passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 18, 2016 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Pruitt and Rev. Johnny Huffman. Burial will follow in the Cranberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 11-12pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Phipps was born Ashe County on Tuesday, January 24, 1939 to the late Bart and Edna Liddle Taylor. She enjoyed gardening and was a member at Bellview Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband; James Jackie Phipps, two brothers; Jim Taylor and Bartie Taylor, and a sister; Mary Lee Rose. Mrs. Phipps is survived by one daughter; Sheryl Carson and husband Keith of Crumpler, one grandson; Brian Carson and wife Hillary, one great-grandson; Gage Carson, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
