Mr. Jack H. Sturgill, age 84, of Lansing passed away Tuesday evening at Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M at the Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Bluford Eldreth and Rev. Peter Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service Jack was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on Saturday, June 28th, 1924 to the late Ida Plummer and Lester Sturgill. Mr. Sturgill is survived by his wife Ressie Winebarger Sturgill of Lansing; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Sturgill and wife Jean of Mebane, NC, Mark Sturgill of Lansing; one sister Wave Davis of Aberdeen, NC; two grandsons Robby Sturgill of Mebane, NC and Drew Sturgill of Mebane, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by three brothers; Edward, Walter, and John C. Sturgill; three sisters Thelma Sexton, Edith Brown, Kathryn McWhorter.
