Mr. Erick Aguilar Barcenas, age 18, of Fleetwood passed away Wednesday morning, October 26, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Father James Stuhrenberg officiating. Catholic funeral will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 7:30pm at St. Francis Church in Spanish. Burial will follow in the Bald Mountain Church Cemetery on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 2PM. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 11-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Erick Aguilar Barcenas was born in Ashe County, NC on Tuesday February, 3, 1998 to Graciela Aguilar and Reyes Barcenas. He was the oldest of three siblings, Chely Barcenas, Reyes Barcenas, Jr., and Pablo Barcenas. He graduated from Ashe County High School on June 3, 2016 and played men’s varsity soccer for four years. He was also a member of JROTC. Mr. Barcenas was known as a sweet, athletic, and outgoing man, whose smile was contagious and was loved and known by many. He enjoys playing soccer, listening to music, riding around with friends, and making people laugh. His smile and jokes will be deeply missed. He is survived by his parents; Reyes and Graciela Barcenas of Fleetwood, one sister; Araceli “Chely” Barcenas of Fleetwood, two brothers; Reyes Barcenas, Jr. and Pablo Barcenas both of Fleetwood also survives.
