Doyle was saved on May 9, 1990 and baptized on July 1, 1990. He was a faithful member of Big Flatts Baptist Church as long as he was able to go. He loved his church family. He wanted Scotty's advice on everything. He wouldn't try to fix anything without calling him, even if Scotty was at work. If he was sick he would ask Nikki to come to see if he needed to go to the doctor. He loved to go on trucking trips with Ricky and called him daily to find out where he was and what he was hauling. He enjoyed Jerry taking him to the dirt track races in Boone every Saturday. There was nothing more important to him than family. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and his little great grandchildren. He loved life and God gave him a good long one. His dearest wish was to see all his family saved. Mr. Jordan was born in Ashe County on Sunday, August 24, 1941 to the late Joseph Grady and Lessie Leona Parsons Jordan. He worked for Bare Brother's House Moving Company. He enjoyed mowing and caring for his yard. He also enjoyed working with his horses and mules but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be missed by all. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Jordan and a sister Geraldine Jordan. Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, of 56 years of marriage, Mary Eldreth Jordan; two sons, Ricky Jordan, of Lansing and Scott Jordan and wife, Melanie, of Fleetwood; a daughter, Nikki Jordan-Hodges and husband, Danny, of West Jefferson; a brother, Rex Jordan and wife, Sue, of Fleetwood; two sisters, Shirley Osborne and husband, Robert, of Crumpler and Jo Ann Hash and husband Ed, of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Jessica Jordan, of Lansing, Amanda Jordan-Smith and husband, Josh, of Grassy Creek, Kala Jordan-Johnson and husband, Parker, of West Jefferson, Tyler Hodges, of Crumpler, Jordan Hodges and Noah Hodges, both of West Jefferson; four great-grandchildren, Blakely Miller, Kaiden Miller, Harlow Smith and Olivia Smith; several nieces and nephews also survive.
