Mrs. Barbara Lee Howell Holman, age 73, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, November 12, 2016 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 12:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.D. Walton and Rev. Lawrence Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00pm on Wednesday; one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Holman was born in Ashe County on May 7, 1943 to the late Vonley Lee and Nora Lee Howell. She was a Homemaker. When her health was good she enjoyed taking long walks and cooking for her family. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Duncan. Mrs. Holman is survived by her husband, Harold Henry Holman; four sons, Rick Holman and wife, Beth, of West Jefferson, Terry Holman, of West Jefferson, Anthony Holman and wife, Angie, of West Jefferson and Dean Holman and wife, Lisa, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Kim Duncan and husband, Dennis, of Sparta; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be appreciated.
