Mrs. Sylvia Gaye Galliher Cockerham, age 86, of Bristol, TN formerly of West Jefferson passed away Friday evening at Bristol Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Margaret Wannemacher officiating. Burial will follow in the Cockerham Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 on Saturday, December 17, 2017; one hour prior to the memorial service. Mrs. Cockerham was born in Kingsport, TN on September 23, 1930 to the late Charles H. and Mable Gobble Galliher. She was a member of Smethport United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howard Cockerham, Sr. on March 8, 2009; a son, Charles H. Cockerham, Jr.; two sisters, Etta Deckard and Thelma Penley, both of Bristol, TN; a brother, Irvin Galliher, of Bluff City, TN. Mrs. Cockerham is survived by two sons, Kenneth Edward Cockerham and wife, Kate, of Brentwood, TN and Joseph Todd Cockerham, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Rebeccah Hunt and husband, Toby, of Loudon, TN; a brother, John Charles Galliher and wife, Barbara, of Bristol, TN; three sisters, Mary McFaddin, of Bristol, TN, Betty McGlothlin and husband, Robert, of Bristol, TN and Marcella Loudermilk, of Franklin, NC; five grandchildren, Amber Moore, of Knoxville, TN, Aaron Hunt, of Loudon, TN, Casey Jo Cockerham, of Reidsville, Michael Cockerham, of West Jefferson and Nicholas Cockerham, of Chattanooga, TN; three great-grandchildren, J.B.
