Gary Darnell, 69, passed away peacefully with his wife, June (Shepherd) Darnell, by his side. Born to Mr. Ardle Darnell and Mrs. Cordie (Woodie) Darnell, Gary was a graduate of Ashe Central High School and Forsyth Technical Community College. Gary was also a tireless employee of Holly Farms, which later became Tyson Foods, for over 40 years. Along with his wife of 48 years, Gary is survived by four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Charles Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the charitable organization created in honor of Gary’s late nephew, Bobby Lee Money II, “Right Mind Corporation”.
