Mrs. Winnie Jean Weaver Greer, age 77, of Jefferson passed away Saturday morning, December 31, 2016 at Margate Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lindsay McGrady, Rev. Avery Roark and Speaker Cultin Greer officiating. Burial will follow in the Greer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00pm on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Greer was born in Ashe County to the late Everette Weaver and Bessie Farmer. She was a member at Highland Bible Tabernacle. She loved her dogs, Levi and Smokey. She also enjoyed baking for family and church family, with strawberry cake being the specialty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Greer; and eight siblings. She is survived by two sons; Joseph Greer and wife Tracy of Goldsboro, NC and Randy Greer and wife Tina of Jefferson, one daughter; Christal Jones and husband Tim of Purcellville, VA, one brother; Conley Weaver and wife Lou Ella of Mountain City, TN, five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
