Mr. Joseph Eldreth, better known as “Jody”, age 75, of Todd died Sunday morning, January 1, 2017 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2:00PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Dollar, Rev. Joey McClure, and Rev. Ken Homes officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Eldreth was born in Ashe County on December 29, 1941 to the late Samuel and Blanche Lawrence Eldreth. He was a member of Flatt Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed turkey hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be misses by all. He is preceded in death by ½ sister; Vee Parsons, ½ brother; Greek Eldreth, and a brother-in-law; Jerry Glenn. He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Ruth Ann Lewis Eldreth, one daughter; Teresa Ann Hamby and husband Tim of Fleetwood, one brother; Lawrence Eldreth of Todd, one sister; Janet Eldreth Glenn of Vilas, NC, a ½ sister; Marie Holman of Todd, two granddaughters; Amanda Renee Hamby and Alicia Ann Hamby, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
