Mrs. Virginia Sheets Bare, age 95, of Laurel Springs passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Hospice House of Randolph. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2PM at Roans Creek Baptist Church with Elder Eddie Lyle, Elder James McNeill, and Elder Floyd South officiating. Burial will follow in the Bare Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Bare was born in Wilkes County on December 11, 1921 to the late Dana Harmon and Edna Dancy Sheets. Virginia was a member of Roans Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and being with her family. Her main pastime was reading the Bible and playing cards, canasta, rook and hand and foot. She loved to ride through the country side or sit on the porch and enjoyed the scenery, commenting on how beautiful the trees were shaped. She retired from Troutman Textile in Sparta, NC. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy Richard Bare; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sue Bare; and grandsons, Derek Miller and Richie Bare; and brother, Villard Paige Sheets. She is survived by two daughters; Jean Miller and husband Herman of Greensboro, and Betty Rich and husband Don of Sophia, one son; Richard Bare and wife Gaye of Laurel Springs, one sister; Violet Connell and husband James of Laurel Springs, nine grandchildren; Cindy Palmer and husband Donnie of Jefferson, Mitch Bare and wife Bridget of Laurel Springs, Sherry Shepherd and husband Curtis of West Jefferson, Susie Eidson and husband David of Taylorsville, Wendy Phelps and husband Dennis of Greensboro, Jason Miller and wife Becky of Trinity, Sandra Foreman and husband John of Kernersville, Donna Deaton and husband John of Sophia, and Lorie Lee and husband Rusty of Davidson, twenty four great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. At other times, the family will receive guest at the home of her sister, Violet (James) Connell at 119 Buckwheat Branch Road, Laurel Springs, NC. Flowers accepted or memorial may be made to Roans Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
