Mrs. Pauline Jeanette Pritchard Bower, age 92, of Jefferson passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Blevins, Rev. Doug Halsey, and Rev. Cory Halsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Bower Colvard Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 12:30-2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Bower was born in Avery County on April 27, 1924 to the late Roscoe and Ella Mae Miller Pritchard. Pauline enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved working in her garden and canning. She enjoyed her walks, dancing, and bowling. Pauline especially loved watching golf. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband; Olney Paul Bower, and a daughter; Judi Miller. Mrs. Bower is survived by two daughters; Bennett Darnell and husband Phil of Jefferson, and Jenny Johnson and husband Greg of Jefferson, three sons; John Bower and wife Kathy of Jefferson, Tom Bower and wife Sylvia of Tyrone, GA, and Mark Bower and wife Sandie of West Jefferson, one son-in-law; Howard Miller of Falls Church, VA, eleven grandchildren; Travis Bower and wife Priscilla of Woodstock, GA, Chris Bower and wife Sonja of Raleigh, NC, Beverly Glienke of Durham, NC, Nichole Bower and husband Greg Moeller of Peachtree City, GA, Jospeh Bower of Raleigh, NC, Erin Darnell of Raleigh, NC, Justin Darnell of Asheville, NC, Matthew Bower of West Jefferson, Laramie Johnson of Charlotte, NC, Seth Bower and wife Jamie of Crumpler, NC, and Kelsey Johnson of Jefferson, eight great-grandchildren; Dane Bower, Nolan Bower, Meyer Bower, Eleanor Bower, Harrison Bower, Molly Glienke, Beckett Moeller, and Maddie Bower, and her cat; Tiger. A special thank you to the ladies that helped care for her; Kay Houck, Ardean Banner, Judy Sturgill, Crystal Shatley, Pam Jason, and Berniece Shelton.
