Obituary of Brenda Patricia Horton

Mrs. Brenda Patricia Gwyn Horton, age 67, of Jefferson passed away Friday night, March 10, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Fontrina Wray, Rev. James Perkins, Rev. Silas Hart, Rev. Raymond Brown and Rev. Brenda Faust officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30pm on Friday, March 17, 2017; prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Horton was born on February 17, 1950 in Ashe County to the late Annie Mae Harriston Gwyn. She retired from Sprague Electric. Brenda was a very hard worker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Ann Horton; four brothers, Clarence Gwyn, Lenard Gwyn, Eugene Gwyn and Billy Joe Gwyn; two sisters, Evelyn Gwyn and Clara Lee Gwyn. Mrs. Horton is survived by her husband, of 46 years of marriage, Mack Junior Horton; three sons , Mike Horton and Danny Horton, both of Jefferson, Malcolm Horton, of Greenville, TN; two brothers, Robert Gwyn and wife, Floree, of Gastonia and William Gwyn, of Harrisburg, PA; seven grandchildren; a great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
