Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Carson Harmon, age 93, of Southern Pines, NC passed away Tuesday evening, March 21, 2017 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Harmon was born in Shelby County, Illinois on Sunday, February 3, 1924 to the late Oliver E. and Opal Majors Carson. She married the love of her life 72 years ago, John Harmon, Jr. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be missed greatly. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Carson and Wayne Carson. Mrs. Harmon is survived by her husband, John Harmon, Jr.; a son , John D. Harmon, of Southern Pines, NC; two daughters, Sybil L. Harmon, of Creston and Terry H. Garvin and husband, Dale, of Lansing; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests no flowers please memorials may be made to their local SPCA.
