Mrs. Beulah Kathleen Winebarger McNeill, age 100, of Creston, passed away Sunday morning, June 21, 2009 at her residence. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 2:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Denton Heart officiating. Mrs. McNeill was born in Ashe County to the late Norman W. and Lucy Belle Johnson Winebarger. She was a school teacher for almost forty years. She attended the Peak Valley Baptist Church. She was a loved member of the community. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and teacher. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved her very much. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen McNeill and one son, John Frank McNeill. She is survived by one son, Reeves McNeill and wife, Edith of Creston; one daughter, Norma Whitaker of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Michael McNeill, Norman McNeill, Donna Owens, Joyce Rash, David Whitaker, Judy Sturgill, John McNeill; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Owens, Jenna McNeill, John Sturgill, Dawson Sturgill; several nieces and nephews also survive.
