Mr. Jessie Britt Miller, better known as “Britt”, age 87, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, April 16, 2017 at Margate Health and Rehab. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. David Blevins and Rev. Vernon Eller officiating. Burial will follow in the Claude Mash Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Miller was born in Ashe County on May 7, 1929 to the late Philmore and Mayra Mash Miller. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Factory. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and listening to bluegrass music. He was a loving father, grandfather, and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his wife; Goldie Miller, two brothers, Bower Miller and Barney Miller; two sisters; Pauline Roten and Mozelle Rivers, and two stepchildren; Walter Cox and Van Cox. He is survived by four sons; Jessie Ray Miller of West Jefferson, Lloyd Miller and wife Nancy of West Jefferson, Mark Miller and wife Pam of Jefferson, and Dean Miller of Virginia, three daughters; Shelby Casey of West Jefferson, Vickie Sheets and husband Tim of West Jefferson, and Debbie McClure and husband Mike of Jefferson, one step son; Ander Cox and wife Martha of West Jefferson, three step daughters; Francis Cozart of West Jefferson, Violet Roten of West Jefferson, and Edith Clark and husband Goss of West Jefferson, one sister; Gladys McNeil of Wilkesboro, thirty-three grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Claude Mash Cemetery, 532 Claude Mash Road, Jefferson, NC 28640. The family respectfully request no food please.
