Obituary of Mary Josephine Hoosier

Mrs. Mary Josephine Goodman Hoosier, better known as Mary Jo, age 75, of Todd passed away Thursday evening, May 4, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1:00pm at Laurel Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 11:00-1:00pm on Monday, May 8, 2017; two hours prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Hoosier was born in Watauga County on July 23, 1941 to the late Henry Lee and Beulah Holman Goodman. She worked as a secretary for her husband auto sales. She was a member of Laurel Knob Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Donald Hoosier; two brothers, Ronda Goodman and Howard Goodman and a sister-in-law, Elsie Smith Goodman.

Mrs. Hoosier is survived by a brother,  Lowell Goodman and wife, Carol, of Germantown, TN; two nieces, Gloria Goodman Roach of Murfreesboro, TN and Jane Rossi of Portland, OR, and one nephew, Lee Goodman of Germantown, TN, several nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Laurel Knob Baptist Church, c/o Imagene Goodman, PO Box 1703, Jefferson, NC 28640.

The family will be meeting at the home place in Todd.
