Obituary of Ted Allen Gilley

Mr. Ted Allen Gilley, age 82, of Lansing, passed away Friday night, June 2, 2017 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell Mash officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Gilley was born on October 13, 1934 to the late Lester and Viller Gilley. He was the owner and operator or Ted’s Jeans and Things. Ted professed a hope in Christ in 2005 and joined Peace Heaven Community Church where he remained faithful till death. He loved his Lord and the Church. He was very generous and always wanted to give you something. He will be missed.

He is preceded in death by two sisters; Beryl Kerry and VA Bennett, and four brothers; Paul, Grant, Ray, and Elmer Gilley.

Mr. Gilley is survived by his wife, Myrtle Royal Gilley, one sister; Irene Love-Joy of Delaware, one brother; Ned Gilley and wife of Baltimore, MD, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
