Mr. Paul Enoch Hardin, age 87, of West Jefferson, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the Beaver Creek Christian Church with Rev. Jim Dawes, Rev. Wayne Williamson & Minister Creighton Beatty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Hardin was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, December 13, 1921 to the late Cicero Enoch and Rebecca Hartzog Hardin. He was a member of the Beaver Creek Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and also loved working in the church. Paul and his wife, Jewel had been married for sixty-five wonderful years. He was also preceded in death by one son, John Daniel Hardin. He is survived by his wife, Jewel Miller Hardin; two daughters, Elizabeth Roten and husband, James of Creston, Betty Owens and husband, Dwight of West Jefferson; two granddaughters, Amanda Owens and Crystal Eisenhower; one grandson, David Roten.
