Mrs. Alma Ruth Campbell Waddell, age 81, of Grassy Creek passed away Thursday afternoon, June 15, 2017 at Grayson Rehab & Health Care Center. A private funeral service will be held. Mrs. Waddell was born in Watauga County on July 30, 1935 to the late Clip Max and Nell Tester Campbell. She was a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edison Waddell; a son, Ricky Waddell; a brother, Bobby Campbell; a sister, Naydean Baldwin. Mrs. Waddell is survived by a son, Gary Waddell of Jefferson; two brothers, Donnie Campbell and wife, Lynda, of Grassy Creek and Charles Campbell and wife, Trish, of Grassy Creek; a sister, Martha Blevins, of Independence, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
