Mrs. Sharon Kay Brown Greer, age 69, of West Jefferson passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at her home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herman Turner officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Tuesday; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Greer was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 31, 1947 to the late Francis and Marie Davis Brown. She enjoyed working outside in her garden, mowing or fishing. She also enjoyed playing cards with her grandson, Tommy. Mrs. Greer is survived by her husband, Carter Greer; two sons, Steve Potter of Pound, Virginia, Kevin Potter and wife, Tammy, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Tammie Turner and husband, Herman, of Acworth, Georgia; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several grandchildren also survive.
