Our deepest and sincerest condolences to the family. Words alone can not ease the pain when grieving the loss of a love one. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". May God give you and your family comfort in your loving memories and in His promise that soon we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they resurrected as per John 5:28-29. May these words give you a new hope, with deepest sympathy and warmth of heart.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Ben. I am the retired postmaster at Jefferson. I retired in January 2006. It was always a joy to see Ben come through the doors of the post office. He was always honest and straight forward with his opinions about things and just a delight to talk to. One more than one occasion he shared with my family different fruits that he grew. I'm so sorry that there are no new Ben Harrisons coming along. He was a wonderful man and I and all that knew him will miss him greatly.
My prayers will be with all his family. I feel that I have truly missed something special by not knowing all of you.
God Bless,
Charles and Louise

Dear Barbara and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the death of your father. Just yesterday, the tv news told of three of five surviving veterans of the Arizona ship at Pearl Harbor visiting the White House. I was thinking how few and how precious the remainder of The Greatest Generation are. Though he had a long and wonderful life after his military service and sacrifice, I remember him with the VFW and all funerals and ceremonies in which he was a part. I also remember that he was a good friend of my father. I remember how good he and your mom were to me when I'd go home with you. I hope that you can cherish your memories and be at peace and be proud of this man's life.
Love,
Klyda

My entire childhood is filled with extraordinary memories of this remarkable man. Ben Harrison was the calm and humorous wisdom of Colvard Farms. We all depended on him, especially Grandpa Fred. My brother George and I tested his patience on a daily basis during our long visits. He was generous and gracious. . . . And he shaped our childhood with wit and tenacity. Like Fred Colvard, Ben was a true gentleman . . . The last of an era. My condolences to his lovely family. He will be missed.

Barbara, Sarah, and Bob...there are no words to adequately express how much Ben means to us and how much we miss our time with both him and Iris. We have so many wonderful memories of them that we are truly thankful for. I will never see another New Year pass without remembering Ben inviting me to ring in the New Year with him on that old bell...nor will I ever see an apple tree or a grape vine without keeping him and "Poverty Knob" in my thoughts. His sense of humor was the greatest and I can hear his laugh now. As we miss Ben we will also be keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you, and know that we feel very blessed by having had Ben in our lives.

I am so sorry to hear about Ben. He was such a good friend to my mom, Jo Stringer, coming for supper almost every Thursday night for many, many years, and playing cards after supper. They were such good friends. I remember him bringing her different types of beans to plant in her garden, or tomatoes, and always having such a great wit about him. He will surely be missed by all who knew him. Please accept my sincere sympathy for you and your family during this difficult time. He was one of a kind, and always good to me and my family.
