Mr. Meredith Gray Stike, age 63, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in Bald Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Stike was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, August 26, 1953 to the late Glenn and Juanita Stevens Stike. He worked at Cattle Whistle Lumber and Phoenix Chair Company. He also was a cattle farmer. His favorite NFL team was the Green Bay Packers. He was also preceded in death by two half-brothers, Gene Stike and Glenn Junior (GH) Stike. Mr. Stike is survived by two sisters, Nancy Houck of West Jefferson and Dinah Gourley of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
