Mr. Harold Gail Dancy, age 79, of Laurel Springs, passed away Monday morning, July 6, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Riley Blevins officiating. Entombment will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Dancy was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, September 24, 1929 to the late Eugene and America Leona Burchett Dancy. He was a Dairy Farmer. He was a member of New River Baptist Church He is survived by his wife, Pat Eller Dancy, of the home; two sons, Eric Dancy, and wife, Amber, of Laurel Springs and Gail Dancy of Laurel Springs; two daughters, Tina Denny and husband, Jess, of Laurel Springs and Leona Richardson, of Jefferson; a sister, Ola Seagle and husband, Dale, of Hickory; three grandsons, Cody Dancy, Mason Calhoun and Cabot Calhoun; two granddaughters, Tamara Kearley and Traci Phipps; two step granddaughters, Ashley Denny and Alyssa Denny; three great grandchildren, Carrigan Kearley, Kayden Kearley and Owen Phipps; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests no food please. Flowers are accepted.
