Obituary of Carrie Lea Elliott

Mrs. Carrie Lea Brooks Elliott, age 99, of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday morning, August 28, 2017 at Wilkes Medical Center.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Greer and Rev. Keith Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Boone Family Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Elliott was born in Ashe County on August 14, 1918 to the late James Heggie and Ella Wyatt Brooks. She was a member of Clifton Baptist Church and also attended for several years at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Millers Creek.

 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Smith Elliott; two sisters, Clarsie Eller and Yvonne Francis; two sons-in-law, David Lambert and Jerry Sheets.

 

Mrs. Elliott is survived by a son, James (Jim) Elliott and wife, Dorothy, of North Wilkesboro; five daughters, Betty Miller, of Millers Creek, Melba Stanley and husband Neil, of Chesterfield, SC, Judy Lambert, of Ruby, SC, Pat Joines and husband, Edwin, of Sparta and Peggy Sheets, of McGrady, NC; a brother, JH Brooks, of Warrensville; a sister, Lola Sawyer Greer, of Warrensville; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
