Obituary of Valerie Ham Parker

~~Ms. Valerie Ham Parker, age 87, of Pfafftown, NC passed away Saturday night, September 2, 2017 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Roten Graybeal Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Graybeal officiating.

Ms.Parker was born in Ashe County on January 6, 1930 to the late Charles and Ella Osborne Ham. She was a Homemaker. She was very involved in the Republican Party and received commendations for service to the Republican Party in Ashe County.  She was also active in Old Town Baptist Church.  Ms. Parker was an avid quilter and gifted her family members with her works of art. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers; Bruce Ham and Charles Ham, and a sister; Selma Shea.

She is survived by two sons; David Parker of Pfafftown, NC and Rhon Parker of Winston Salem, two daughters; Jane Sigmon and husband Gary of Boone, and Lynn Marietta and husband Mark of Gainsville,  GA, one sister; Lorraine Howell of King, NC, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Town Baptist Church, 4386 Shattalon Dr, Winston Salem, NC 27106.
