Obituary of James Harold Blevins

~~Mr. James Harold Blevins, “better known as Jim”, age 77, of Jefferson passed away Friday morning at Glenbridge Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Kirby McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 1-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Blevins was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on March 29, 1940 to the late William Jennings Brian and Hattie Eldreth Blevins. He enjoyed fishing and squirrel hunting. He was a loving father, grandfather, and will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by two brothers; Cliff Blevins and Tom Blevins, and four sisters; Jo Dollar, Polly Baker, Doris Sheets, and Louise Ashley.

Mr. Blevins is survived by one son; Billy Blevins and wife Terry of Jefferson, one step daughter; Libby Winebarger and husband Dennis of Deep Gap, one brother; Bob Blevins and wife Jenny of Jefferson, one sister; Myrtle Jean Blevins and husband Cecil of Maryland; four grandchildren; one foster great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
