Obituary of Bernard Newell Winters

Mr. Bernard Newell Winters, age 97, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday night, October 11, 2017 at Margate Health and Rehab.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with military rites with Rev. Will Heyward and Rev. Ed Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am on Monday, October 16, 2017; one hour prior to the memorial service.

He was born in Dover, Ohio on August 14, 1920 to the late Newell Guy and Beatrice Lilly Price. Bernard served in the United States Army. He retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a part of the Wheel Chair Ministries and Evangelist Explosion in Florida; plus the Billy Graham Crusade Ministry. He had several hobbies such as sketching and wood carving.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Jane Flegle Winters on February 10, 2011.

Mr. Winters is survived by two daughters, Marla Powell and husband, Bruce, of Glendale Springs and Karen Reynolds and husband, Jim of Glendale Springs; a son, Greg Winters and wife, Sue, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; several  nieces and nephews also survive.
