Mr. Leroy Phillips, age 68, of West Jefferson passed away Saturday night, October 21, 2017 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Holmes and Rev. Carroll Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in the Glendale Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 12:00-2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Phillips was born in Ashe County on July 30, 1949 to the late Charlie and Hazel Main Phillips. He was a member of Valley Home Baptist Church. He was the founder of Watauga Concrete Finishers. He devoted his life to leave this company as his legacy for his family. Leroy had a huge heart and a hard worker. He was always there to help anyone that needed him. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by two brothers; Robert Phillips and Thomas Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Rash Phillips, of 48 years of marriage; a son, Doug Phillips and wife Kayla of West Jefferson; a daughter, Michelle Miller and husband Dennis of West Jefferson; three brothers, Glenn Phillips of Maryland, Earl Phillips and wife Edith of Newton, and Fred Phillips and wife Jane of Todd; three sisters, Virginia Mosuly of New Jersey, Linda Seatz and husband Bobby of Todd, and Sue Culbreth and husband Red of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Alex, Karina, Daniel, Tiffany, Alexandria, Cyrus, and Danny; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
