Obituary of Virginia Biggers Hicks

~~Mrs. Virginia Biggers Hicks, age 97, of Margate Health & Rehab Center passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11AM at Mt Paddy Church with Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Private graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 10-11AM at Mt Paddy Church.

Mrs. Hicks was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on July 5, 1920 to the late Samuel and Martha Reading Biggers. She was the owner and operator of a small grocery store in Charlotte, NC. She loved to laugh and found great joy in helping others. She would take all the neighborhood children to church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her husband; H.L. Hicks.

Mrs. Hicks is survived by one son; Rick Hicks and wife Debbie of Mt. Sterling, KY, one daughter; Rhonda Carson of Crumpler, four grandchildren; Doug Carson and wife Pam of Crumpler, Crystal Spencer and husband Greg of West Jefferson, Ashley King and husband Jim of Lexington, KY, and Brandon Hicks of Mt. Sterling, KY, four great-grandchildren; Cari Carson,  Matthew Carson, Jacob King, and Carson King, several nieces and nephews also survive.
