Mrs. Josie Nell Price Barker, age 75, of Jefferson passed away Thursday afternoon, November 23, 2017 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Barr officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell-Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Sunday, November 26, 2017; one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Barker was born in Ashe County on February 10, 1942 to the late Paul John and Irene Mahala Price. She was a sewing machine operator at Sara Lee Knit Products. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Glen Barker on February 16, 2012 and a brother, Gene Dale Price. Mrs. Barker is survived by three daughters, Sherry Barker Segraves and husband, Garnett, of Fleetwood, Janet Barr and husband, Kenneth, of West Jefferson and Tena Bott and husband, Tracy, of Glade Springs, VA; a son, Ronnie Barker and wife, Sherry, of Hayes; two brothers, Bob Price, of Creston and Bill Price, of Creston; six grandchildren, Miranda Brown and husband, Jason, of West Jefferson, Shanda Richards and husband, Robert, of West Jefferson, Kelly Taylor and husband, Chris, of Jefferson, Haley Barker of Wilkesboro, Dustin Bott of Glade Springs and Dillon Bott of Glade Springs; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Brown, Jared Richards, Zach Richards, Kadence Barr, Lyndzi Brown, Bo brown and Wyatt Taylor; several nieces and nephews also survive.
