Obituary of Dallas Carpenter

~~Mr. Dallas Carpenter, age 69, of Lansing passed away Sunday morning, December 10, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 1PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shepherd, Rev. Tim Roten, and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in the Carpenter-Fairview Cemetery with military rites.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 5-7pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Carpenter was born in Ashe County on May 15, 1948 to the late Cyril and Olive Greer Carpenter. He worked 30+ years working at Brown Brothers, Vannoy’s Construction, and Adams Construction. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listing to blue-grass music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years; Barbara Carpenter, four sons; Brad Carpenter and wife Hope of Lansing, Jerry Carpenter of Taylorsville, Adam Carpenter and wife Margaret of Laurel Springs, and Ryan Carpenter and wife Kayla of the home, one brother; Jack Carpenter and wife Kathy of Hays, two sisters; Phyllis Sullivan and husband Johnny of West Jefferson, and Carol Barker and husband Tony of Lansing, six grandchildren; Corbin Carpenter, Jadyn Carpenter, Marley Carpenter, Kimberly Carpenter, Kelsey Carpenter, and Sherina Roten, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew also survive.
