Obituary of Billy Joe Hash
Mr. Billy Joe Hash, age 79, of Grassy Creek passed away Wednesday morning, December 13, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 3PM at New River Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Jones, Rev. Charles McCoy, and Rev. Mark Wagg officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Hash was born in Ashe County on August 27, 1938 to the late Herbert and Lessie Blevins Hash. Billy was a loving Christian man and loved his church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be missed by all.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson; Parker Aaron Hobbs, two sisters; Betty Hurley and Geneva Debord, and two brothers; Bob Hash and Edward Hash.
Mr. Hash is survived by his wife of 53 ½ years; Virginia Rose Brown Hash, one son; Billy Andrew Hash of the home, two daughters; Doris Seymore and husband Randy of Grassy Creek, and Kelly Hobbs and husband Billy Statesville, one brother; James Ernie Hash and wife Louise of Jefferson, three sisters; Audrey Johnson of Ennice, NC, Bonnie Absher of Troutdale, VA, and Barbara Hash of Troutdale, VA, six grandchildren; Jennifer Greer and husband Jerome, Tonya McClure and husband Justin, Sarah Seymore, Wesley Seymore, Tucker William Hobbs, and Timber Marie Hobbs, five great-grandchildren; Jamison Slack-Valentino, Brooks McClure, Arianna Rose Greer, Krislyn Greer, and Ethan Greer, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
