Obituary of Nelson Edison Bare

Nelson Edison Bare, 81 of Fleetwood, North Carolina, passed away, Saturday,

December 23, 2017 at Margate Health and Rehab, surrounded by his close family and

close friends.

Nelson was born January 11, 1936 in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Nelson was an

active member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

In retirement Nelson enjoyed gardening and spending time with his children and

grandchildren. Before retirement he was self employed in sales for 35 years. He served

in the Army after high school.

Nelson is survived by his wife of 59 year, Pansy Church Bare, his son Gary Bare and

his wife Kay Bare of Wilkesboro, NC, his daughter Sherrie Bare of West Jefferson, NC,

four granddaughters Holly Bushhouse and husband Jonathan Bushhouse of Fuquay

Varina, NC, Rachel Bare of Wilkesboro, NC, Lauren Testerman and Kristen Testerman

of West Jefferson, NC. One sister, Christine Brown of Fleetwood, NC, and several

nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cosby and Hattie Bare of

Jefferson, NC and four siblings.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 28 at Boone

Family Funeral Home, West Jefferson, NC. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at

2:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Reverend John Elledge and Reverend Larry

Powers will officiate. Burial will follow at Bald Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery with

military rights.
