Obituary of Brenda Gayle Phillips

Mrs. Brenda Gayle Pierce Phillips, better known as "Gayle" age 66, of Fleetwood passed Tuesday morning, December 26, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00pm at Mission Home Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence Goodman and Rev. Derrick Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Flatts Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Wilkes County on December 24, 1951 to the late Hardin and Rosa Lee Porter Pierce. She worked at Southern Devices Mfg. Company. She was a member of Mission Home Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed working puzzles, word searches and working outdoors. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Pierce.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband of 44 years of marriage, Jerry Phillips; three daughters, Michelle Richardson and husband, Marty, of West Jefferson, Tina Phipps and husband, Kevin, of West Jefferson and Nicole Lambert and husband, Matthew, of West Jefferson; a son, Zachary Aaron of Fort Hood, Texas; three sisters, Debbie Pierce, of Wilkesboro, Elizabeth Teague, of Wilkesboro and Denise Pierce, of South Hill, VA; four granddaughters, Callie Shepherd, Haley Phipps, Kendall Shepherd and Macie Richardson; two grandsons, Keelan Phipps and Weston Lambert; a step grandson, Gage Lambert; a step granddaughter, Laci Lambert; several nieces and nephews also survive.
