Obituary of Ruby Jewel Parsons

Mrs. Ruby Jewel Miller Parsons, better known as “Jewel”, age 65, of Jefferson passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-9pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parsons was born in Ashe County on April 14, 1952 to Joseph Wayne and Ruby Katherine Wallace Miller. She loved her animals and had never met a stranger. She was a loving mother and will be missed by all.

She was also preceded in death by a brother; David Miller.

She is survived by a son, Wayne Parsons and wife Cindy of Jefferson; her mother, Katherine Miller of Crumpler; one sister, Mary Jo Vido of Crumpler, her cat; Pumpkin, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
