Randy Allen Barker, age 61, of Jefferson, the Bristol Community passed away Tuesday morning, January 16, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Blevins and Speaker Dalton Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2:00-6:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Barker was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 9, 1956 to Emmet Barker and the late Wylene Blevins Barker. Randy worked at Sara Lee Knit Products, as a mechanic until the plant closed and then worked in maintenance at Ashe County Schools. Randy was a hard worker and always willing to help a friend or a stranger. He had a passion for collecting old signs and gas pumps. He owned several classic old cars and enjoyed going to car shows with his buddies. But most of all, he loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, son and uncle; he will be dearly missed by all. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Ronnie Barker, on January 22, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Winebarger Barker; a daughter, Callie Lewis and husband, Dalton, of Jefferson; a son, Luke Barker, of Jefferson; his father, Emmet Barker, of Jefferson; niece, Heather Peters and husband, Marty of Crumpler; nephew, Nathan Barker and wife, Candace of Deep Gap; great nephews, Harper Peters and Silas Barker; great niece Hadley Peters also survive.
