Mr. James Luther Cox, better known as "Jim", age 75 of West Jefferson, passed away Wednesday at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 1pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Dr. Rev. Calvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12-1pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Cox was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on June 19, 1942 to the late Fred and Katy Miller Cox. Jim was a sweet gentle man. He is preceded in death by two brothers; Lester Cox and Wade Cox. He is survived six sisters; Barbara Cox of West Jefferson, Lula Severt of West Jefferson, Annie Severt of West Jefferson, Lola Cox of West Jefferson, Mary Miller of Jefferson, and Lenna Hodgson of West Jefferson, four brothers; Fred Cox of West Jefferson, Wayland Cox of West Jefferson, Willard Cox of Taylorsville, and Larry Cox of West Jefferson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
