Mrs. Ruth Wilcox Scott, age 87, of Todd passed away Tuesday morning, January 30, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00pm at Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Dean Houck and Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Friday, February 2, 2018; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Scott was born in Ashe County on May 26, 1930 to the late Richard Delbert and Ollie Houck Wilcox. She retired from Sprague Electric. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. Ruth loved spending time with her family; cooking and fellowshipping with them. She was a loving mother, grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Joseph Scott in January 1983 and Mack Scott in March 2002; a son, David Christopher Scott and a great grandson, Kody Mullis. Mrs. Scott is survived by a son, Joseph Donnie (JD) Scott and wife, Mary, of Jefferson; a step daughter, Madelyn Fair, of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Angela Scott Roten and husband, Keith, of Lansing, Heather Scott Little and husband, Brad, of Jefferson and April Michelle Davis and husband, Johnie, of Todd; five great-grandchildren; a great, great-grandchild; two step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; a step great, great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Norma Houck, of Leesburg, VA also survives. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Brad Scott 303 Zion Methodist Church Road, Todd, NC 28684. The family is meeting at the home place at 1360 East Mill Creek Road in Todd.
