Mrs. Georgia Lee Blevins Dancy, age 95, of West Jefferson passed away Monday afternoon, September 22, 2008 at the Segraves Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of West Jefferson with Rev. Michael Lea and Rev. Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Mrs. Dancy was born in Ashe County on September 3, 2008 to the late Walter Guy Blevins and Lelia Mintoria Paisley Blevins. She was a Cosmetologist. She was a member of West Jefferson First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard B. Dancy, a son, Barry Dancy and a sister, Aretia Kilby. She is survived by a son; Danny Dancy of West Jefferson; a brother, Archie Blevins and wife, Norma Ruth, of Gray Court, South Carolina; several nieces & nephews also survive.
