Mrs. Ellen Sheets Mash, age 84, of Fleetwood passed away Saturday morning, March 3, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 2:00pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2018; one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Mash was born in Wilkes County on January 25, 1934 to the late Dennie and Mae Dancy Sheets. Ellen was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She retired from TRW; after working 20 plus years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Franklin Mash on February 22, 2011; a sister, Peggy Jordan. Mrs. Mash is survived by a son, Tony Allen Mash, of Fleetwood; two sisters, Helen Surber, of Fleetwood and Gladys Brown, of West Jefferson; a grandson, Scott Alan Mash and Lori, of Fleetwood; a great-grandson, Brent Allen Mash, of Fleetwood; several nieces and nephews also survive.
