Mrs. Lillie "Maxine" Dancy, age 82, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, March 18, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2:30pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Denny and Rev. Julian Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Calhoun Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30pn on Sunday, March 25, 2018; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Dancy was born in Ashe County on June 3, 1935 to the late Rhuda and Edna Lewis Wyatt. She retired from Sara Lee Knit Products after working 35 plus years. She was a member of Apple Grove Baptist Church. Maxine enjoyed quilting, canning vegetables from her garden and cooking for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeff Dancy on June 13, 2014; two brothers, Walter Garland Wyatt and Bill Wyatt; a sister, Gerald Greer. Mrs. Dancy is survived by two sons, Randy Dancy, of West Jefferson and Gene Dancy, of Warrensville; a brother, Gale Wyatt, of Sherman, Texas; seven sisters, Juanita Sharpe, of Rugby, VA, Betty Dancy of West Jefferson, Geneva Kemp of West Jefferson, Louella Baldwin, of Warrensville, Jenny Hamm, of Lansing, Bonnie Denny, of Warrensville and Nettie Hart, of Lansing; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
