Obituary of James Gray Prim

Mr. James Gray Prim, better known as “Jim” age 74, of Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, April 1, 2018 at NC Baptist Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 7pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Blevins and Rev. Keith Wagoner officiating. Private burial will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 5-7pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Prim was born in Yadkin County on January 20, 1944 to the late Clyde and Nonnie Burgess Prim. He served in the United States Marine Corp League #1389. He was a deacon at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and also a Sunday School Teacher. He also enjoyed fishing and dancing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be missed by all.

Mr. Prim is survived by his wife Barbara Senter Prim, one daughter; Christi Matthews and husband Mark of Yadkinville, three-step sons; David Wyatt of Winston Salem, Brian Wyatt and wife Beth of Jonesville, and Jason Williams and wife Brooke of Wisconsin, two-step daughters; Lisa Bauguess and husband Gordon of Lansing, and Tina Miller and husband Tony of Cary, two brothers; Jerry Prim and wife Patty of East Bend, and Tommy Prim and wife Valerie of Millen, GA, two sisters; Faye Wivell and husband Bart of Jacksonville, FL and Betty Sapper and husband John of Elkin, five step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
