Mr. Richard Dean Goss, age 52, of North Wilkesboro, formerly of Ashe County passed away Saturday night, April 14, 2018 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Anion Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Goss was born in Ashe County on June 6, 1965 to the late Rev. Ivory Goss and to Betty Cole Quessenberry. Richard served in the United States Army in Special Forces. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of Cricket Fire Department. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. He was a loving father, brother and son; he will be missed by all. Mr. Goss is survived by a son, Dave Goss and wife, Kaylie, of Laurel Springs; his mother, Betty Quessenberry, of West Jefferson; a brother, Kenny Goss and wife, Cathy, of North Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews also survive.
